Andy Watson, Group Finance Director

Born and bred Yorkshireman, Andy emerged from Salford University at the height of the "Madchester" era with a degree in Finance and Accounting. After "recovering" from the acieed-induced haze, he spent 4 years with Ernst & Young in Leeds helping them to become one of the "Big Four" and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant whilst gaining invaluable experience on many different types of business.

In 1993 he threw it all away and joined the Intermarketing Group as Company Accountant and in 1996 was appointed Finance Director and has been with the business ever since, quietly masterminding its success whilst letting the other directors continue in their belief that it was all down to them.

As the only non-client-facing director within the business, Andy has, over the years, also acquired the roles of IT technician, Health & Safety manager, HR & Personnel manager, Company Secretary, Legal support, Counsellor, etc, etc, etc.

After playing football in his early teens, Andy became too big and so took up rugby instead and from leaving University he played "social" rugby for Wakefield RFC and then Wakefield Cougars RUFC until their untimely demise in 2004-5, and then for Sandal RUFC until the Sunday morning aches and pains became too much and he retired in 2009.

Over the last few years he has taken up distance running and has run in three Great North Runs as well as the 2008 London Marathon, raising funds for several charities close to his heart. He has also added cycling to his repertoire and recently took part in the Isle of Man End to End challenge.

He has been an avid fan of Leeds United since his Dad took him to see them in the days of Hunter and Lorimer et al and is desperate to see them back in the big time.

Andy is married with two young children, who he beats regularly (at Mario Kart Wii).
